The Greek Football Federation announced on Friday that, according to a ruling of the UEFA Stadium and Security Committee, the ATHENS OLYMPIC STADIUM has been included in the 5-stars stadium list and KARAISKAKI STADIUM in the 4-stars stadium list. This means that the first is now capable to host a Champions League final, while the latter can host a UEFA Cup final. The Greek Football Federation has submitted its candidature for both these events, to be held in 2007. The decision by UEFA on the venues of both finals will be revealed in the coming months. |
