The plans for the reconstruction of ALKAZAR STADIUM were presented by the chairman of A.E.Larissa FC, Kostas Piladakis. They involve the transformation of the stadium into a football ground (no athletics track) with a capacity of 16,500, which may be increased to 31,500 (if the stadium is included in Greece's EURO 2012 bid).

The "new" Alkazar will feature twenty VIP boxes, one restaurant with pitch views, eight snack bars, and a commercial area of 6,500 sq.m. The cost is estimated at €21,450,000.

Please note that this is just the first of the two proposals that have been prepared by the club for their new home. The second proposal involves the construction of a new stadium in the Larissa suburb of Neapoli, right next to the namesake arena. According to the club chairman, plans for it will be presented to the public within the coming weeks.
