UEFA gave the final green light to Panathinaikos’s
"APOSTOLOS NIKOLAIDIS" (a.k.a. Leoforos) STADIUM. The historic mid-town home of the club was deemed capable to host Champions League games, after the latest upgrading that was carried out by Panathinaikos this summer. Club officials expressed their satisfaction, but at the same time pointed out to the fact that "Apostolos Nikolaidis" is a temporary solution. Panathinaikos have made clear that they intend to build an entirely new stadium, however they have encountered many problems finding the appropriate site for it.
