Zofria Indoor Hall
Zofria Indoor Hall
Capacity: 2,500
Location: The hall is located in Zofria of Ano Liossia, an area about 11 km north of the centre of Athens. Get there by car through Attiki Odos (the Athens orbital), using exit #6 to Kamatero. After the underpass, turn right at the traffic lights . This is Megalou Alexandrou Street and leads to the town of Aspropyrgos, running parallel to Attiki Odos motorway. Drive for another 1.5 km from that point and then turn left into Dionysou Street, following the roadsigns to the indoor hall. You will reach it after 200m.

It is fairly obvious that all this is very complicated for someone who is not familiar with the area. Using a bus therefore would be much better. E12 (board it at Marni Street, near the Archaelogical Museum) will get you straight to Zofria, stopping on Megalou Alexandrou, only minutes from the hall. Unfortunately, this bus does not have a very frequent schedule, while it operates Monday to Friday only. An alternative is using bus A12 (again from Marni), getting off in central Ano Liossia and then using local bus 713 (Ano Liossia-Zofria).
Built in: 1997
Home of: No professional basketball club currently uses this hall
More data: The hall's official name is "3rd Municipal Indoor Hall of Ano Liossia". It has a west and a larger east stand. The main disadvantage is access to it, but this will change in the next few months as Attiki Odos (the Athens Ring Road) will be given to traffic - the hall lies only a few hundred metres from the motorway. Zofria Indoor Hall was the venue of the European volleyball CupWinners' Cup Final-four in 2000. It is the temporary home of AEK B.C. from 2002 until 2004, as the Olympic Sports Hall is being refurbished for the 2004 Games.
Zofria Indoor Hall is owned by the Municipality of Ano Liossia.
