Glyfada Indoor Hall
Capacity: 3,232
Location: The arena is located in Glyfada, a southern seaside suburb of Athens, next to the old airport (10 km from city centre). The new tram line to Glyfada will be ready by 2004. Until then... take the bus!

Use either #A2, #B2, #A3 or #B3 from Athens (outside the Academy, on Panepistimiou St) and #A1 or #B1 from Piraeus (Korai Sq). They all stop at the central square of Glyfada. The arena is 500m from there, along Metaxa Street. However, if you don't want to make the walk, use local buses #128 or #129 from the square. They both stop outside the arena.

More data: Its official name is "Makis Liougas Indoor Hall". Glyfada Indoor Hall used to be the largest arena in Athens until 1985, when the Peace & Friendship Stadium was inaugurated. Before 1970, all the big basketball games were played on the open-air court inside the Panathenaic Stadium.

The arena has been used by the Greek National Team, as well as by a great number of clubs over the years. Panathinaikos B.C. played there for 3 years in the early '90s, before they moved to the Olympic Sports Hall. Panionios B.C. also used it as home for a season some years ago. Olympiakos B.C. have played many games there and used it as home in the 2001-2002 season.
The arena is owned by the General Secretariat of Sports.
