Απλα μια παρατηρηση... απο οτι θυμαμαι και με τη Γαλλια η προιστορια μας πριν τον αγωνα που κερδισαμε ηταν 5 ηττες και μια ισοπαλια ακριβως... Razz

ALREADY a voyage of drama and surprise, Greece’s European Championship campaign last night struck choppy waters as Otto Rehhagel’s squad threatened to strike over their bonus payments. Unhappy with the Hellenic Football Federation’s offer of £80,000 per man for reaching the semi-finals, the players last night held a summit meeting to discuss their options. Presumably, there were no jokes involving Grecians and urns.

While industrial action remains the last resort — and is extremely unlikely to disrupt tonight’s fixture against the Czech Republic — there is huge disaffection among Rehhagel’s team at a perceived lack of recognition from the Greek authorities. With the HFF receiving around £7 million for reaching this stage of the tournament, Rehhagel’s players are demanding £200,000 each.

Coming on the same day that AEK Athens lurched towards financial meltdown and possible relegation to amateur status — Demis Nikolaidis, the international centre half, has unsuccessfully attempted to buy the club, which has amassed debts of £70 million — it represented a difficult moment for a nation which has bucked expectations at Euro 2004. It was sour preparation to a difficult match in Oporto.

It is a remarkable journey which has taken Greece to the last four of the competition, but few have travelled a more tortuous route than Nikos Dabizas. In the past year, the centre half has been rejected by Newcastle United, relegated with Leicester City and fearful for his future after a devastating car crash. For the Greeks, haphazard glory is now the stated destination — in spite of their intrigue — but Dabizas, 30, welcomes each fixture as a miracle. When he ploughed his TVR Cerbera into a set of traffic lights in Athens last June, hopping clear of the wreckage before the vehicle burst into flames, his life was in peril. He regards his country’s excellence at Euro 2004 with the grounded sense of a man permitted a second chance.

Dabizas, the former Greece captain, may have watched from the sidelines so far this summer, but he personifies that freedom of spirit. In reality, he has little alternative. A severely broken arm, a broken nose and facial bruises was the extent of the damage he suffered in his moment of personal trauma, but he accepts that he was deeply fortunate to escape without more threatening injuries.

“Our opening game against Portugal was exactly a year to the day since I had been involved in the accident and I experienced really mixed emotions,” he said. “It’s unbelievable how things can change. I’m very lucky to be here. After the crash, I thought about the chances of my career being over and that I might be finished.

“I started to think that the doctors weren’t telling me anything because it was something I wouldn’t want to hear. When you don’t know what’s happening, you fear the worst. The first two or three days were very tough for me, but after that it became clear I’d have a chance to recover. I couldn’t stop thinking about it during the game against Portugal. I was sitting on the bench, but all I could picture was the hospital and where I was.

“Now I look at it as a positive experience. And I hope people who have suffered in a similar way can draw strength from what I’ve achieved since the accident. These situations can only make you stronger. When things are going well and you are having it easy, you can’t really test yourself. It’s at times like that when you prove what kind of character you really are. You either collapse or you grow stronger.”

While Dabizas awaits confirmation from Leicester that they will take up their option to employ him for another season — he arrived there from Newcastle on a free transfer in January — he has marvelled at Greece’s transformation from whipping-boys to bullies. “For the first time, people are not just thinking about Greece as a place to go on holiday,” he said. “We’ve shown that we can produce the goods on the pitch, not just on the beach.”

The Czech Republic would be unwise to focus on the title prematurely, yet there is awareness that another yellow card would bring a suspension for Pavel Nedved, the Juventus midfield player, who was banned for the European Cup final in 2003 after committing a needless foul on Steve McManaman, of Real Madrid. “We all know Pavel could miss another final if he is booked, but we have to go out and play our game, ” Karel Brückner, their head coach, said.

οκ παιδιά το καταλαβαίνω πως είστε πολύ αισιόδοξοι.
Λοιπόν. για να τους νικήσουμε τους πολλούς καλούς τσέχους πρέπει να συμβούν 2 πράματα, τα εξής τρία Laughing

1. Οι τσέχοι να είναι στα κακά τους
2. Εμείς να είμαστε στα καλά μας
3. Να εχουμε αρκετό φάρδος στους γλουτιαίους ( για να χτυπάει η μπάλα πάνω τους και να μην μπαίνει γκόλ το σουτ του Νεντβεντ!!!)

Αυτά έλεγα και με την Γαλλία και επαληθεύτηκαν.
Δε βρίσκω κάποιο λόγο για να μην επαληθευτούν και σήμερα.

Πάντως πρέπει να ετοιμαστείτε ψυχολογικά για το χειρότερο.
Μην μου πετάξετε ντομάτες.
Εξηγούμαι:
Σε περίπτωση που χάσουμε θα μας φανεί όχι και τόσο απρόβλεπτη τροπή, όσο να ναι θα μας κακοφανεί λιγότερο, ενώ
Σε περίπτωση που περάσουμε η χαρά μας θα είναι απερίγραπτη.

Εγώ αυτό νομίζω πως συνέβη και με την Γαλλία, και μακάρι να γίνει και σήμερα!!!!

Manchester7, ανέβασε και τα άλλα 3 με Πορτογαλία,Ισπανία. Ειδικά με τους τελευταίους που ψιλοπαγώνουν οι speakers και ακούγεται ένας από δίπλα να λέει adios με το που πάει η μπάλα στα δίχτυα, είναι όλα τα λεφτά.
Ας ελπίσουμε να μην είναι τα τελευταία και να πάμε καλά σήμερα.

Σιγά σιγά, το ηφαίστειο που είναι η ψυχή του Ελληνισμού από κάθε γωνιά του κόσμου, ωθούμενη από το μυαλό του Ρέχαγκελ, την πίστη και το πάθος των παικτών μας, και το γλυκό, μαγικό, αριστερό πόδι του Τσιάρτα έχει ζήσει να δει το πιο μεγάλο αθλητικό, αλλά και όχι μόνο, όνειρο πραγματικότητα.
