Hell again!

Does anyone know where I can find seating plans for the various Olympic stadia?
Now that seating arrangements have supposedly been finalised and seats have been allocated to those who bought tickets, I would like to see how the different seating categories (A, B, C, etc.) have been planned out for each sporting event.
I've looked at the official Athens 2000 site but either I did not find seating plans or they do not have them (yet?).

I suppose I would be hoping for too much to expect the organisers to provide an updated link showing exaclty which individual seats are still available for the different sessions, right?

Anyway, if anybody has any ideas of where to find this info I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Unfortunately as I can't copy the picture from the greek side of the forum I can only provide you with the link.
Don't be scared just scroll down the page ignoring the greek posts until you see the seating plan for the main olympic stadium.
At this time this is the only seating plan that we have come across but rest assured that we will post seating plans of the other venues as and when we get them.

Many thanks.

Bear in mind though that this is a plan for the opening and closing ceremonies, not for any sporting sessions.

Seating categories in some of the stadia are to be reconfigured depending on the particular event held in that stadium.
Thus, for example, D category seats exist only for the opening/closing ceremonies. For the athletics the whole stadium will be A, B and C.
It could very well be that Opening Ceremony B tickets are later classified as A tickets for the athletics.

You can see the seating chart for the Olympic Stadium for all events at:

http://www.tickets.athens2004.com/seating_chart?vid=286723&mid_sid=8%3A8241

The D seats become C for Athletics. I belive the B seats are the best. With A seats you run the rist of getting stuck in one of the curves.

Interesting.
Many of us have already received our tickets but we have no idea where we'll be sitting.
Are there any official Athens 2004 publications in Greek that containing the seating plans for the various stadia?
Have they been printed in any of the Greek newspapers?

Or am I the only one curious regarding my seating arrangements come August? Smile

What do you mean, you have no idea? Isn't the stadium gate printed on your ticket?

Admin,

Well, firstly, as I'm currently working outside the EU, all my tickets were picked up for me by relatives, so I do not have them in front of me. However, I would expect that there would be something seriously wrong with the entire Athens 2004 ticketing system if they did not have the gate, row, and seat information printed on them! Smile

Secondly, I was lamenting the fact that though we know our seating info in theory, the absence of publicly available detailed seating plans for the various stadia makes it impossible to locate our seats and see where they are in relation to other friends who have also bought tickets and in relation to the action on the field/court/stadium.

Don't most fans who buy tickets for sporting events try to check out the venue seating arrangements prior to deciding how much they are willing to spend for a ticket of a particular category?
In the case of the Athens 2004 random lottery this was impossible but now that stadium seating plans have been finalised and tickets are being distributed, I was hoping to finally being able to see exactly where we'll be sitting when the medals are won. Smile

I might sound a bit funny but how can you figure out where you will be sitting if you don't even know the gate and section on your tickets?

Anyway, to get some info, go to the Athens 2004 official ticketing website, use the drop down menu to search for tickets you are interested in, then on the list click on the venue (e.g. Olympic Aquatic Centre) and then on top left there is a link "View venue seating chart ", just under the Athens 2004 official logo.

Unfortunately there is not a seating chart for all venues, but hopefully you have bought tickets for the ones provided. Laughing

George,

Thanks for the help.

Obviously I have the gate and section info at my disposal. Just haven't bothered to ask my relatives to pass on the details since most of the venues I hold tickets for do not appear on the official site.

There's no info on the basketball courts, beach volleyball, football, swimming (unless the seating arrangements for the diving and swimming are the same).

Hopefully, they'll be up soon.
