Location:
ิhe hall is located in Patras, 220 km west of Athens. The city has
an airport, only used by charter flights. You can get to Patras by
boat from Italy or train from Athens. The indoor hall itself is located
in the south part of Patras, in a suburb called "Perivola".
If you are coming by car from Athens, you don't need to drive through the city. Follow the motorway bypass towards Pyrgos and exit at "Patra 3 - Glafkos". Turn right after 500m and this will bring you to a roundabout, where you will see the indoor hall on your right. To reach Apollon Patras Indoor Hall from within the city, you may use bus #7. If, however, you want to get there by car, you will have to find the road leading to Kalavryta. Pass by "Aghios Andreas" hospital and at the traffic lights continue straight ahead towards "Clauss". Go on for another 1.2 km and you will see the Panpeloponnesian Stadium on your left. The road splits in two 200m after the stadium. Go left and after 1.7 km you will come to the roundabout mentioned above. |

More
data: Apollon Patras Indoor Hall is sometimes called "Perivola
Indoor Hall", taking the name of the area where it is located.
The hall's main characteristic is its impressive roof, made entirely of wood. Unfortunately, a financial dispute broke out in 2001 between the owners of the hall, Apollon Patras amateur club, and the namesake professional Basketball Club. This resulted to the "exile" of the basketball team from their natural home for almost 3 seasons, during which they played at Patras Arena "Dimitris Tofalos". Apollon Patras Indoor Hall is also used by smaller teams, the most important of which is Apolloniada. |
